Description
Description
Valerian root has traditionally been used as a sedative. In the brain and nerve system, it appears to have sedative-like effects. Valerian is frequently used to treat sleep disorders, particularly insomnia. There are numerous other uses for valerian, including the treatment of stress and anxiety, although the majority of these are not well-supported by science.
